Waiting list
If the day you want to come is fully booked, you can request to be notified if spaces become available. To do this, go to the same booking website, www.reservarefugios.com, and select the refuge under "Book." Below the calendar, you'll see the option: "Is the refuge full? We'll notify you when spaces become available." Enter the email address where you'd like to receive the notification and the day you'd like to come.
Intolerances or allergies
If you have any intolerances, allergies or specific dietary requirements, you can detail them in the reservation itself.
Tents and bivouacs
The refuge does not rent tents. People are free to bivouac above 1800m in the park. According to current regulations, in adverse weather conditions or force majeure, overnight stays in tents are permitted, allowing them to be pitched between one hour before sunset and taken down one hour after sunrise. There are several bivouac sites behind the refuge. There is no charge for them. Spaces are not reserved. Sleeping inside the dining areas or on the floor of the lockers is not allowed. For safety reasons, we only allow people to sleep inside if they have a bed available.
Reservation cancellation terms
In case of cancellation:
- If the reservation is cancelled more than 14 days before the scheduled arrival date, 100% of the amount received will be refunded, less the return shipping costs (€3).

IF PART OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF SERVICES RESERVED IN A RESERVATION IS CANCELLED, THE PROPORTIONAL DEPOSIT CORRESPONDING TO THE SERVICES THAT ARE CANCELLED WILL BE LOST, IF IT IS NOT DONE WITH THE ADVANCE TIME DESCRIBED IN THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE RESERVATION.
Federation discounts
Whether or not you are a member of the federation makes no difference when making the reservation. The discount will be applied when you pay the total amount at the refuge itself, upon presentation of your federation membership card with the "reciprocity in refuges" icon.
Pets allowed
Dogs are not allowed inside the shelter. They must sleep outside, provided they are quiet, to avoid disturbing others. Please also note that dogs must be kept on a leash at all times in the park, in case a ranger sees you and asks you to stop them.
Fountain
The refuge has a spring next to it. You won't find water along the routes leading to Collado Jermoso, so it's recommended to carry water in your backpack.
Showers and bathrooms
The showers are for guests only. If you have booked dinner or breakfast, you can use the refuge's restrooms, but only in those cases.
Payment methods
When you book through our central office, you only pay a portion of the total cost. The remaining balance must be paid at the refuge. We accept credit card payments, but they are not always available. Therefore, we recommend bringing cash. As we are in a mountain refuge far from civilization, making change can be difficult. We would appreciate it if you also brought coins when paying in cash.
Routes, prices, weather...
For information on routes, prices, webcam, weather, refuge features, etc., please visit our website: www.colladojermoso.com.
The most accessible route is via Remoña and Fuente Dé. Those traveling with children often prefer to take the cable car, and the ascent to Cordiñanes is the most technical, although it doesn't require ropes.
If you have any serious doubts about reaching the refuge, we recommend hiring a guide. We do not offer this service.
What to do at the shelter
In addition to numerous ascents such as La Palanca, El Friero, El Llambrión, etc., you can access other mountain huts in the same massif, such as Cabaña Verónica (approximately 3 hours) or Urriellu (approximately 6 hours).
Another of Collado Jermoso's attractions is its sunsets.
If you have any questions about a route, you can consult our website: www.colladojermoso.com. If you find it difficult to interpret the routes or have any concerns about the environment, given that it is high mountain terrain, we recommend hiring a guide. We do not offer this service.
Bar service and opening hours
The refuge has a bar service where you can order tapas, sandwiches, snacks, etc. Lunch menus are available by reservation only. Dinner and breakfast are also available by reservation only.
Picnics
Picnics must be booked through the central reservations office. If you're unsure whether you want one, you can reserve it at the refuge. But always upon arrival!
We bake our own bread, so please have an estimate of how many sandwiches you'll need to make so you don't run out.
Dinner and breakfast hours
It is very important that the dinner schedule is respected. We recommend arriving at the refuge before 7:00 PM, as this is when we begin assigning seatings.
Depending on the number of people at the refuge, there may be two seatings, and these are assigned as guests arrive. YOU CANNOT CHOOSE YOUR SEASON.
For breakfast, upon check-in, the warden will offer you a choice of three times: 7:00 AM, 7:30 AM, or 8:00 AM. It is important to let them know your preferred time as soon as possible, as it may be full.
Dinner times are always scheduled so that everyone can enjoy the sunset.
Waste management
Everyone is responsible for their own trash. The refuge does not have bins and does not manage anyone else's waste. Of course, it is strictly forbidden to leave trash in the mountains, and breaking this rule may result in a fine from the Picos de Europa National Park.
Free kitchen
The shelter has a free kitchen. It can only be used outside the shelter's own dinner hours. The price for using gas is €1 and if you want to use a stove it will have to be in the kitchen itself, not on the dining room tables. The shelter does not provide kitchen utensils.
Lockers
The refuge has lockers for guests; you will be given a key upon arrival. You can store your backpack there. For those planning an activity the following day in the area surrounding the refuge, we can store your backpack or equipment while you are active.
